The Low Energy Ship and the Green Fuel efficiency has become an attractive goal for shipping as burning less fuel has both environmental and commercial benefits. Other items on the green agenda include ballast water management, sulfur emissions reduction and particle emission reduction. Shipbuilding, Operations & Technology Safety in Shipping The industry wide operational safety review undertaken in 2012 yielded a number of recommendations which were subsequently approved as amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea by the IMO. These measures, already voluntarily adopted by the cruise lines, show the industry's commitment to passenger safety and the work of developing impeccable safety practices will continue. The panel will assess the implications of the SOLAS amendments and look at the proactive steps the industry is taking and will take to increase passenger safety now and in the future.

Destinations and Ports Terminal Development and Security in Port & Onboard The last five years have seen major advances in cruise terminal design, to ensure optimization of passenger comfort and efficiency of operations. As the global spread of cruise tourism continues, there is a wide divergence between regions as to the standard of facilities on offer.
